{"id":25630,"date":"2025-10-24T12:55:46","date_gmt":"2025-10-24T10:55:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nefrocenter.it\/progetto_di_ricerca\/ai-medicard\/"},"modified":"2025-11-29T13:57:06","modified_gmt":"2025-11-29T12:57:06","slug":"ai-medicard","status":"publish","type":"progetto_di_ricerca","link":"https:\/\/www.nefrocenter.it\/en\/progetto_di_ricerca\/ai-medicard\/","title":{"rendered":"AI MEDICARD"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Project Overview<\/h3>\n<p>AI MEDICARD is an integrated digital health project designed to enhance the entire clinical decision-making and patient care, from diagnosis and prognosis to therapeutic planning and monitoring, in individuals affected by diabetes, cardiovascular, and renal diseases<br \/>Artificial intelligence, medical research and advanced informatics combined to deliver personalized, evidence-based medicine through a scalable software platform accessible to healthcare professionals<br \/>Prevention and early detection of acute cardiovascular events, excluding heart failure, in high-risk patients with comorbidities (e.g., Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) and End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD))<\/p>\n<p>    <\/p>\n<p><strong>Costo complessivo del Progetto:<\/strong> \u20ac 7.385.474,00<br \/><strong>Durata totale:<\/strong> 24 mesi (data di inizio: 2 maggio 2024)<\/p>\n<p><strong>AIM<\/strong><br \/>To develop an integrated Digital Health Platform:<br \/>To support diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of complex patients with T2DM, cardiovascular issues, and renal comorbidities<br \/>To enable the visualization of clinical data via a dashboard, enriched by AI-generated predictive insights<br \/>To assist healthcare professionals in understanding and predicting the triggering factors behind acute cardiovascular events, thereby contributing to prevention strategies<br \/>To deliver a high-impact, innovative clinical service that incorporates personalized medicine tools<\/p>\n<p>Method<br \/>WP1 \u2013 Clinical Correlation Analysis: Examination of relationships between cardiac, pulmonary function, sleep apnea, and T2DM, with and without ESRD<br \/>WP2 \u2013 Predictive Algorithm Development: AI models for forecasting cardiac disease onset and progression in T2DM patients with chronic and terminal renal comorbidities<br \/>WP3 \u2013 Genomic Profiling: Analysis of genomic variability in diabetic patients with differing disease severities to develop risk stratification algorithms<br \/>WP4 \u2013 RNA Biomarker Identification: Detection and validation of genomic and epigenomic RNA biomarkers (including microRNAs) through liquid biopsy techniques<br \/>WP5 \u2013 Multiparametric Biomarker Panel: Development and clinical validation of a predictive, diagnostic, and\/or prognostic biomarker panel to be integrated into the AI platform<br \/>Results<br \/>Improved personalization of therapy and clinical pathways tailored to individual risk profiles<br \/>Enhanced care quality and reduced cardiovascular complication risk in diabetic patients<br \/>Early identification of at-risk patients, enabling timely interventions<br \/>Data-driven clinical decision-making, supported by AI and biomarker insights<br \/>Efficient use of medical resources, through optimized treatment selection and follow-up plans<br \/>Reduction of adverse effects by targeting therapy to the patient\u2019s biological and clinical profile<br \/>Conclusion<br \/>A step forward in precision medicine, combining AI algorithms with genomic and clinical data to deliver a powerful decision-support tool for clinicians<br \/>By integrating diagnostics, monitoring, and predictive modeling into a single platform, it can improve patient outcomes, particularly among those with high-risk comorbidities, and realize more sustainable healthcare delivery  <\/p>\n<p>Partners<\/p>\n<p>The AI \u200b\u200bMEDICARD project is implemented by Nefrocenter S.c. a r.l.
